Severin Engelmann is a PhD Student at the Chair of Cyber Trust. His PhD is dedicated to three research projects: first, he studies different measures of social norm propagation in the Chinese Social Credit System. Second, he explores the moral implications of human inference-making for deep learning-based image analysis. Finally, he works on alternative forms of governance for social media platforms. Severin pursued a Master’s Degree in Philosophy of Technology and a Postgraduate Degree in Computer Sciences at the Technical University of Munich. Prior to that, he completed a Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences and Philosophy at University College Utrecht (Netherlands). During his studies, he worked for several digital marketing companies. He attended the United World College of the Atlantic (UWC) in Wales, UK.
